Favourites Forum

How about a Favorites Forum instead of all these stickies?

Technical requirements are simple:
A Forum where new posts cannot be started, but where mods can move really popular threads to.

I think its a great idea.

It could also house "reference" threads, such as a fullscale avatar thread, and a "signature archive" thread (where we can permanently record our old signatures for everyone's continual appreciation).

Is it easily possible?
What do people think?
It'd be nice to free up space on the "Open Mic" thread.

you mean a favorites thread...

this sounds like a good idea to me too.

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

I mean a forum compartment, such as "Open Mic", "General Discussion".
I'm saying: how about a "Favourites" too.

I think PanA means a favourites forum -- presumably one under General/Other

ADDING: right ... what he said

as long as it is not spelled Favourites.

Funny, I can't figure out how to archive the stickies and leave them as stickies. So put a divider between the stickies and actual posts. I know it's not a fix but if you want to skip past the stickies then it does make it a little easier to see actual new posts, I guess.

Well, I know you meant well, but adding a bar to the screen means there's even less ordinary threads visible. In fact in "Open Mic and Chat" I now have, er, half a non-stickied thread visible on my screen.

I certainly didn't ask for this, so please don't blame me if you don't like it. Thanks!

Chris,

Thanks for your interest in my proposal of a "Favorites" section.

I see that only one other person has said here that they like it, and so unless other people say they too like the idea of a "Favorites" section, then I don't think it is worth time trying to implement it.

Thanks for your interest, and time given, all the same.

I think the divider is really helpful. Either way, our list was getting really long and separating them was a good call.
