Hello everyone!
My name is Carrie. I'm 25, I'm married and have been with my spouse for 7 years, and I have two kids--a 5-year-old boy named Aydan and an 11-month-old girl named Rylie. I was indoctrinated into christianity as a child and followed it until I was about 16 when the leader of the church I attended told me I had to come to church as many times as she saw fit if I wanted to participate in church activities. I began questioning my beliefs then and quickly realized I had been misled. I've been an atheist for 10 years, and it makes me feel great! Letting go of the fear and guilt that religion instills has made me feel freer, happier, more open-minded, more enlightened, more optimistic, more at peace, and more loving of life than I ever felt before. Every day, I open my eyes a little more to the truth, and I find it exhilirating! I would rather know the hard truth than believe a sugar-coated fantasy. I love to learn new things, and I am comfortable with the unknown during my quest to answer my questions.

Greetings Sweetie. You obviously aren't a 'real atheist' or you'd have eaten those damn kids - but we'll forgive you!

Atheists don't eat their own kids; that would go against the plans of the Great God Darwin. How could we have variation in selection if we're nomming on the targets of selection.
Atheists do, however, love other people's children. Especially if it's a male atheist taking over a pride; he will almost always eat all the existing children, which he then converts to super cannibal baby sperm that he uses to impregnate the pride's females, ensuring his lineage will dominate.

Welcome sweetsauce, good to have you here.
How often do you catch grief for being an atheist in SC?
Also, I'm curious: is your spouse an atheist as well?

god intro, sweet!
and wecome to our humble forum.
One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.
