Ideas for getting evolution accepted in America

I thought "home schooling" was just a euphemism for "no schooling".

If you just want to get into bob jones "university" I suppose it's ok, Apart from that it's pretty useless.

I'd rather make home schooling illegal. I think the German's have the right idea there. Not just because of the religious wackery but because the state has a responsibility to it's children and you can't be honoring that obligation if adults can keep kids out of community eyes.

It depends - obviously there are families where the home-schooling is done well, or it's used because it's needed (for instance, when a child is facing bullying, or illness) and they're not so bad. Honestly though, I think those families aren't so bad HERE because we have a national curriculum and they HAVE to be taught certain things. In the good ol' US of A, I've seen what some home-schooling is like over there.. yuk.

haha WE grew up in the late 80s and early 90s. That line lives through the decades.

There are many deeper reasons (must be) for people to reject evolution. Pride. Dogma. The larger religions speak nothing of evolution. If evolution is true, then what happens after death? We have no great purpose?
It's kinda like when someone tells them self that they can fix their long abusive relationship. Hope in a promise that can't be kept.

But yes, education would make a difference. I have heard "why can't chimps talk?" from a friend. Quite frustrating. Evolution is a lot more complicated then "god did it." Simple answer: Simple life.

I'd like a simple happy life. But I wouldn't sacrifice knowledge.

The home schooling I've seen in America is religious indoctrination....Jesus camp. Scary stuff.

On another forum I was on, a woman was proud of her high school freshmen son because he opposed the idea of evolution "something that has been crammed down our throats" She gave him credit for "thinking for himself" What a laugh. They don't want to believe in common sense, there is no argument that will win them over because their minds are made up. They have chosen to be terminally stupid to please their god and be eligible to climb the stairway to heaven.....

the best I can come up with at the moment is evolutionists recieve no quarter from those that believe evolutionists are a threat to their morality, which is based upon the concept that at one point there was was an general abscence of existence.
