Please can anyone advise me how to set about scanning a book?

I am learning a language and would like to scan the vocabulary lists from an especially helpful book, and then turn them into ascii text or whatever - so that I get then feed them all into my talking dictionary, and find out how to pronounce them all properly.

I expect several people here have done this so many times it like falling off a log.
If you can tell me how I go about Stage 2 : turning the scanned image into text, I would be very grateful.
(I can get a scanned image)

Thanks in advance for any help.
(If anyone also knows how I can tie my shoelaces, pointers with that will be greatly appreciated as well. :D )

Healthy genes act as team-players. They are teamish!
Their winning plays are
salvations of an aliveness of which they are a part.
Only a fraction of genes are selfish/parasitic (and they
parasitize teams).

I don't know what that link says but there's this program called OmniWord which can discern letters from scanned images.

Make two bunny ears, then one bunny goes around the tree and into the hole. Pull tight. :)

Bookeye Planetary Scanners.
Of course, you’ll probably need a University check-book to afford one.
