I've been really bad about reading anything that is not work-related during the past 5 years or so. I finally started to read Shakespeare again, in the evening, on my lawn, with my bunnies playing around me. I had almost forgotten how good it feels.

This is a good book. The theme is that all human constructs are imagined & an illusion.

Well worth a look.

I'll add it to my list.

I recently read "Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?" by Frans de Waal. I liked that one.

What are you reading?

"Sapiens" a brief history of humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.
Its not really brief..a well done chronology, explicit, detailed evolution, linked and discussed. A fascinating book to read..if you like biology, geography, anthropology etc with no god involved. 😎

"Tragedy & Hope: A History of the World in Our Time" by Prof. Carroll Quigley of Georgetown University.

Not exactly light reading, almost 400 pages, but good time killer in waiting rooms or a hospital bed. best taken in small doses.

Thomas Jefferson v The Tripoli Pirates.

Don't know why I'm reading it, it reads like a novel & is pimping itself to racists but is still history we should be aware of.
We've got islamic despots justifying murder & slavery as commands from the koran, & christian soldiers staunch & true trying to avoid dealing with them. & It's all about money!

What's not to hate?

thank goodness he's on our side

That sounds awesome... adding it to my list. I'm already planned through August.
