In all that so-called blather, you didn't notice the relevant parts? I answered: Nothing. You don't owe anybody a damn thing, Miss Taxpayer, because-- as you just now put it-- the poor are fools.

So, now you've got one hand free to guard your pocketbook against your inferiors and the other to pat yourself on the back for being such a wise decision-making Christian with impeccable moral standards.

Yep, you can have your cake and choke on it.

No. Actually, I was trying to work with it and decided to give up. You are too damned stupid, pompous, narcissistic and a whole lot of other negative things to really get through to you. Even a heavy dose of sarcasm had no effect.

So what do you want from me now?

She wants you to accept Jebus as your personal Lord and Savior, vote Republican in the next election, protest against safe and legal abortion and magically become heterosexual. Is that really too much to ask?

She's stunning, ain't she? And she gives and gives and keeps on giving, like a bottomless well of idiocy and meanness, desperate for validation.

she sounds like Betty Bowers [America's Best Christian (tm)]more and more each day.

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

I don't know it for a fact, but I've heard rumors that Lily is actually Betty Bowers' evil twin.

You mean, like a parody? Uh-huh. Even after all this time, I keep thinking: "Nah. Nobody can actually be that twisted."

She's fond of accusing us (well, me, on occasion) of projecting a cartoon-like image onto her. She likes to call it "Faux Lily."

Well, I only hope that she's right and that, away from this forum (and the other one she stands guard over), the woman behind the psuedonym Lily is actually recognizable as being somewhat more sane in real life than she appears here.

Don't get me wrong. I love me some crazy bitches, but only for entertainment purposes.

The only parody here is you. You are a parody of a sane adult. The fact that you are surrounded by the like-minded, doesn't mean that you are normal.

Let's see, when all the useless ranting and raving you have done is reduced to bullet points, we get:
  1. I think everyone deserves to live off the taxpayer, particularly my relatives
  2. I don't want to help my own family out. Let someone else's family do it.
  3. I think the government is wise, spends money wisely and can be trusted with making my decisions for me.
  4. I can point to Amtrak, the US Postal Service and the VA and the newly bankrupted "Cash for Clunkers" program to prove how good the ideas of my betters in Washington are and how well the Government manages *my* money.

Now, Lily holds the following to be true:
  • Health insurance should be reformed to make it possible for everyone to buy the policy that suits him/her best. No one should be forced to pay for it. Freedom means freedom to live dangerously, if so inclined. Freedom also means taking the consequences for your own actions. Like an adult.
  • People who are genuinely poor and need help should be helped--by their families first and, as needed, their local communities and the state-- not the Federal Gov't.
  • The government has never run a successful business and is filled with fools who have never run one nor met a payroll.
  • The state has no business telling anyone what he or she may eat, drink, or smoke. That is for children and I refuse to allow the government to become my nanny.

Guess what? Those who pay the bills call the shots. You may want some idiot gov't functionary telling you what to do? I don't. If the news is a good barometer, neither do a whole lot of Americans.

I notice that she didn't mention the "socialized", yet somehow mysteriously successful, Medicare program, which manages to function with something like a two percent overhead, while private, for profit, insurance companies have an overhead in the twenties.

Your assessment of what you think I am advocating and what you claim you have been advancing over the last few pages of this thread is complete bullshit.

Don't try to pretty up your ugly views now, because you do not have the talent for that.

You literally referred to those who are currently priced out of the market for a basic health insurance policy as fools and blamed them for their predicament. What more is there to say to you, you fatuous, self-entitled cow?

So, take your tax dollars and shove 'em up your cooch, Diamond Lil. Other folks here pay taxes, too, and, fortunately, we are not all as greedy, selfish and loathsome as you.

Why not the US highway system while we're at it? I wonder if she ever leaves the house. I'm thinking she free-rides on all manner of federally funded programs, then bitches about awful they are. Here she is, after all, on the Internets, which we wouldn't have at all if it weren't for Big Gummint spending.

She did mention the Postal Service, which is a bit odd since it works rather well. I wish health care had such a 'failed' system! Funny too that she thinks Cash for Clunkers has failed, when it probably saved Ford.

Cash for clunkers has failed, you socialist sponge. Not one single dealer has actually seen a dime but the 1 billion set aside for it was gone in 4 days. That isn't my idea of success. Now your government is throwing 2 billion more at it. I have a flash for you. Ford was not saved by the government. The government has no business buying private businesses or keeping them from failing. Honestly, this is economics 101-- for dummies.

Anyone who thinks Medicare is solvent hasn't been reading the news. Not for years.
