Hey wait! Isn't 'family planning', where you manage to get lucky and NOT get pregnant every month... causing an 'abortion' too? That precious egg is just as lost!

That's called "Vatican Roulette".

Alternatively, "Rhythm and Blues".

To paraphrase Dawkins Harris (yeah, Harris): since a fifth of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, god = abortion.

Not to nitpick, but I think the quote you're thinking of belongs to Harris, from Letter to a Christian Nation. I recognize this so quickly only because until recently I had it sigged.

Quote:
Sam Harris wrote
[T]wenty percent of all recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage. There is an obvious truth here that cries out for acknowledgment: if God exists, He is the most prolific abortionist of all."

The best part of that YouTube is the comments

Can I conclude we could kill an adult as long as we didn't hurt him?!

Great and informative video. Sex has responsibilities and we all need to be careful.

But wouldn't you rather live a life that doesn't play fast and loose with new persons? Is the sexual buzz that great you'd be willing to kill for it? And really, isn't the sexual buzz a sign that points to the hope we all have experiencing everlasting love? It is only natural that new life would spring from this hope - and for this reason, it's precious at all its stages. Your cynicism seems to be directed at the wrong things.

Yeah, and since it's only natural that hope leads to life, we all need to be careful of making eye-babies.
