I am a gun owner, and licensed to carry. There's nothing crazy about self defense. Faith is not going to stop a person trying to shoot me, nor can the police. I am responsible for me and my family. The police only arrive in time to clean up the mess and collect evidence. If you don't carry, you're crazy.

Train, train, train. You are responsible for every bullet that exits the barrel.

I'm with Stine on this. I'm a liberal lefty and a gun owner. I like to spend time in the wilderness/boonies, I've done it all my life, and I can tell you, shit can and does happen out there.

And the threat doesn't have to be a mountain lion or a brown/grizzly bear, even a rabid fox can totally fuck up an otherwise beautiful day in the woods. All my adult life, whether I'm backpacking or just spending a day reading a book on a river somewhere, I've been armed with something or other. I've recently purchased a stainless Walther PPK/S .380 (with hollowpoints of course) to take the place of my stainless AMT .45 (with hollowpoints of course). Like he said, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
