Ghosts are not real. This should not be a controversial statement.

I think you meant to pose that as a question... But yeah, paranormal stuff is cool, I've seen a good share once, but when it comes to haunted houses, I can't stomach it. Could you?

Paranormal stuff is pretty cool; I certainly would get spooked out in a supposed haunted house.

What is with american 'haunting' programs being so melodramatic?

Something else most people tend to forget is that fear spreads, rebounds and grows - if one person is already scared (perhaps because they're superstitious) they have an effect on the people around them, making the previously not-scared people, jumpy and more willing (unconsciously) to be scared themselves.

You see this happening all the time in the english program 'Most Haunted' - you can actually watch it happening. The presenters have a habit of jumping at absolutely everything, even if it is obviously just a creaky floorboard or a pet, passing on their hysteria to each other.
I think you just answered your own question there. Apart from the stuff you describe, what else is there to catch on film?

Most Haunted is an absolute scam. Derek Acorah, while he may have no departed due to these allegations, was exposed as a fraudster and the entire production was brought into disrepute. Most Haunted is a circus show, not anything to do with the paranormal.

Yes, I could, and I have.

Funilly enough, a common occurance with ghosts, is that when someone who doesn't automatically assume them to be real is around, they don't show up.

I wonder why that is?

I could have told them he was a fraud from the very first episode. Every single ghost he picked up was either murdered or accidentally killed - not a single natural death or illness turned up anywhere. And whenever he had one speak through him, it was the same list of three or four characters every time.

They all had the same accent as well

Speaking for myself only, I do not believe in anything supernatural, ghosts included, paranormal bs... but like psychodiva said, we're still primitive regardless of the rational mind. I'll be the first to admit that if you put me somewhere pitch black or take away some other senses, I get a little freaked out. It's like survival mode kicks in, and the without the senses, your imagination just runs wild. It's really hard to control, even when attempting to do so.

The shows on TV are just ridiculous. I just got in a fight with some friends the other day because they were watching it when I came over, and I made fun of it, and for some reason they got really friggin offended. I told them they were silly to believe in such things. They didn't take that comment too well lawl.
