Good stuff!
The California Supreme court said: "...no legally justifiable reason why the state should withhold the institution of marriage because of a couple's sexual orientation." This is how law is supposed to work, where bullshit walks and reason talks. "The 4-3 opinion written by Chief Justice Ronald George said domestic partnerships that provide many of the rights and benefits of matrimony are not enough." Awesome part two! That whole "Civil Union" crap is just crap. It's RELIGIOUS MARRIAGE that should be taking the hind tit here, with marriage being defined as a "Legal contract between 2 persons for the purpose of establishing a domestic bond". If you ALSO want your marriage recognized by your church, or the Rotary Club, or whatever... that's fine! They may impose additional restraints on you, (Like no same sex marriages for Christians) but that's secondary to the legal description. |

Fantastic news. How typical, though, of the religious/uptight right to claim that is the liberal judiciary that is imposing its will when the state legislature granted marriage rights on two occasions. As we well know on this forum, there is no sorer loser than a religionist.
