Why wont this fucking thing let me upload an Avatar any more. I have tried a few, they fit all the requirements. When I do it as a straight upload it says Upload failed, when I try to link it to a picture on the net it says Failed to create temporary file.

Any ideas before my computer goes off the balcony would be greatly appreciated.

I was hoping this thread would serve that purpose. I also wasn't sure if anyone else had experienced the same.

How close to the requirements is your image? For instance: windows likes to under estimate file size, except on servers, so most servers will report a larger file size than windows does. So if your image is too close to the size specs, then you might have a problem. Also make sure it's a .gif, .png or .jpg.

Edit: That's file size not image dimensions when I'm talking about size.

The dimensions are 49x65. The file size is 4kb. So other than the one dimension being 65 they are all well within. It was originally a .png but I have converted it to both .Jpeg and GIF and still no joy.

Maybe I should try shrinking it further after what you say about underestimating sizes. I use an iMac though, not windows.

Yeah, I don't have that kind of knowledge about Macs, <insert fanboy or irrational hatred of a commercial product just because I don't particularly like it, comment here>.

Can you upload it somewhere so that I can take a peek at it?

I haven't got much experience with them either, this is the first one I have bought and I have only had it a few weeks.

I will try reducing the size first, if it still doesn't work I will send it to you in a message if that is ok.

Yeah, no problem. If anything else, I can put it up on my server so you can just link to it and have be permanent.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with the image, looks like it might be a server/forum problem.
