but this does not seem like something that is worth your time....it is so obviously fake...

One of the most irrational of all the conventions of modern society is the one to the effect that religious opinions should be respected....That they should have this immunity is an outrage. There is nothing in religious ideas, as a class, to lift them above other ideas. On the contrary, they are always dubious and often quite silly.

The problem for is that what I read, I see in the anomalies and according to what I read, in the details it can be recognised. Kind off harmonises to me. I can see many connections and I would like to determine whether is fake. I cant stop until I know, that is my problem, why would it be fake. NASA said the data was right so I figure based on that, the image must be a basic 3d reflection of whats down there.

Oh well, one day maybe.

I must be right or just simply mad. But you just never eh! about anything these days. Madder things have happened I suppose or maybe this is just the maddest. I must admit it has been much creative imagination.

So why do you think you'd have any better luck here confirming your hypotheses than on say, the Richard Dawkins forum? (I just hope we don't wind up getting 700+ posts in this thread like they did.)

i worry about being pickier because we have standards to maintain. i try to help with that.

here is fine with me but be aware that we are atheists ams skeptics and don't suffer fools gladly.
be prepared.

No problems with you being here, but you should probably know what Eva meant by "pickier"

We do see our share of ideas that are not exactly based on reality. For example, just a short while ago we had someone claiming that there was a secret base on the moon and other similar nonsense. We mocked and ridiculed him without restraint until he finally left.

While you are at least not so arrogant as to claim you have "proof of god" as a fact, but rather something you are looking for, your ideas in reaching that goal (the hidden/lost city thing) fall into the same category as the secret base on the moon. It's ideas such as these that we are "picky" about, as not all ideas are deserving of respect.

My advice to you, by all means explore. But rather than look at things with a bias and trying to force the data to match your belief, simply accept the data for whatever it is, and then measure it against your beliefs. And always remember, extaordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If the evidence does not match and/or is in direct conflict with your belief, it's better to alter (or even, discard) the belief than to misrepresent the evidence in order to maintain it.

Im interested in the expression of God mentioned in the Urantia Book. I believe its a wider and better definition and very interesting.

Do not forget it is all made up by the BRAIN. The creator of thought....or do you think the brain picks thoughts up from god like a radio picks up waves?

Christians and other folks infected with delusional beliefs think and reason like schizophrenics or temporal lobe epileptics. Their morality is dictated by an invisible friend called Jesus.
