Open Access, ID, and Black Helicopters January 26, 2007

I saw this post over at ScienceBlogs on Afarensis. It involves an article in the journal Nature, the open access movement, and William Dembski. Highly recommended, and, if it gets your gall up, I refer you to this post of my own.

Publishing and education are going through a painful metamorphosis with the advent of the internet. Think of it. Every class need only be taught once, and the first payment that you get for an article will now be your last.

I’m not at all surprised to see that someone has hired a mercenary. Still, their efforts and investment would be better spent changing their business model to take advantage of advertising rather than following the example of the music industry.

I smell an attorney festival in the back room.
